Mantras and Meditation
(Spiritual Journey Entry)

2/28/08
Today I am searching for  some mantras to listen to daily for at least a couple of hours.

I have discovered just today that meditating during or after listening to mantras give me such beautiful meditative colors in my closed eye vision (3rd eye). This was quite unexpected.  I have been meditating almost daily for about a year now.  It is one of the things that is propelling my spiritual growth.

Meditating gives me many quality rewards.  It relaxes me, renews my energy, gives me new insight, gives me feelings of accomplishments, gives me vivid and beautiful colors of all kinds of shapes and configurations, sharpens my mind, hellps me see my energy in the form of shiny prana or sparkles.

Meditating, yoga and pranayama breathing are the tools I am using in my spiritual growth.  All of them have been tools that have propelled my ascension.

It was suggested by my dear Spirit Guides that I read and follow the exercises provided in the Artist's Way as a way to release blockages that I still have. In this way I can reach my inner child.  The ultimate goal is to lighten up, go to the "playground" and play.

The word "play" is almost offensive to me. I do not know exactly what it is or what is would mean to my life. But I believe it is worth a try to delve into it.

As a child -- okay that was eons ago -- I was not allowed or encouraged to play or be frivolous in any way. This was no one's fault, but just a fact as I see it.  We were encouraged to be more on a serious level. We were expedted to excel in our school work, do chores after school and so forth. There was not lots of time for "play".

Thinking of it now, I am sure we missed a lot by not playing. We were quite seious as children. I wonder is most kids of my generation fell into this same boat. We had parents that worked. We were what is known today as "latch key" children.

I remember only a couple of times after school going to Military Park and playing. I don't know why we were allowed to be there, but I think of it as being fun.

Not playing regularly with other children resulted in not having close friends and developing the give and take that should have happened during those years.
